Before founding the firm, Yakov was head litigation attorney at a high-volume personal injury practice, trying cases the insurance carriers expected to win. He built this firm on the opposite model: fewer cases, each one prepared as if it will see a jury — because the files that are ready for trial are the files that settle well.
Raised in Queens in a Bukharian family, Yakov represents the neighborhoods he grew up in. Clients deal with him directly — not a case manager reading from a screen — and he still gives out his cell number to every client whose case he takes.
